Jason Griswold

Managing Director

Mr. Griswold oversees all new client acquisitions and existing client relationships. His expertise is on advising clients on fleet training solutions from acquisition to disposition. 

Prior to Brown Aviation Lease, Mr. Griswold served as the Director of Aircraft Acquisition for Sentient Flight Group, the leader in Private Jet Membership. At Sentient, he advised clients on the acquisition, operation and disposition of aircraft. In addition, he oversaw the design and development of the company’s first Jet Specific Acquisition Program.

Prior to his aviation experience, he was the Vice President of Sales for Unicast Communications, a market leading interactive advertising technology company. At Unicast, he built and led one of the most dynamic and successful sales forces in the business. His team executed complex interactive advertising solutions for Pepsi, Honda, Miller Brewing, Toyota, IBM and other Fortune 500 clients. The company was sold to Viewpoint Corporation in 2005.

Previous to the technology business, Mr. Griswold spent 2 years as an investment banking analyst for H.C. Wainwright and Co in Boston.

Mr. Griswold’s ties run deep within the aviation world on a personal level as well. John Hambleton, Jason’s great great uncle, was the co-founder and Chief Pilot for Pan American Airways. 

Currently, Mr. Griswold is an advisory board member for Western Michigan University College of Aviation.

Mr. Griswold received a B.A. in History from Colgate University and a MBA from Babson College in Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Griswold is a licensed pilot and Bonanza A36 owner.

Bradford L. von Weise

SVP Global Aircraft Finance, Citi Private Bank – Advisor

Mr. von Weise is currently a Senior Vice President of the Global Aircaft Finance Group within the Citi Private Bank. The group provides private aircraft financing solutions to individual ultra high net worth clients and their companies throughout the world. Mr. von Weise’s responsibilities and roles while at Citi have included origination, program management, reporting and workouts. The group focuses on transactions typically in the range of $10 to $50 million.

Mr. von Weise has over twelve years of business aviation experience most recently serving as Vice President of Business Aviation Finance for Merrill Lynch Capital. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he worked for GMAC Commercial Finance in the same capacity. His expertise covers a wide range of corporate and personal aircraft both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining GMAC, Mr. von Weise was Vice President of Capital Transactions at Lend Lease Real Estate investments, where he was responsible for the recapitalization and workout of large multi-family properties throughout the U.S.

Mr. von Weise is a member of the National Business Aviation Association, a past board member of the Massachusetts Business Aviation Association, and a local representative for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He is also an active pilot and aircraft owner and pilot for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Mr. von Weise has also appeared on the Discovery Channel as an aviation expert in the Celebrity Crash Files, J.F.K. Jr. documentary.

Mr. von Weise holds an undergraduate degree, cum laude, in Environmental Studies and History from the University of Vermont.

Joseph J. Dini

Former Trustee, Daniel Webster College – Advisor

Mr. Dini is currently a Director and Treasurer of Massachusetts Air and Space Museum.  He has been directly involved in the aviation finance and leasing industry for over forty years. He has founded a number of aviation finance groups for entities such as First NH Banks, GMAC, Merrill Lynch, Sovereign Bank and others.  

Mr. Dini has also owned several aircraft acquisition and marketing companies.  He served as a trustee of Daniel Webster College and was chair of its finance committee.  He is a former chair of the Lexington School Committee.  He has written many articles on aircraft finance and presented at a number of national and international aviation finance symposiums.

Mr. Dini is an officer in CAP and a private pilot. He served in the U.S. Navy reserves in the early 1960s. He holds a B.S. in finance from Northeastern University and M.S. degree from Lesley University. 

Michael Hankin

CEO, Brown Investment Advisory & Trust Co. – Advisor

Mr. Hankin is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Brown Investment Advisory & Trust Co. He has spent over 20 years assisting a wide range of individuals and institutions striving to meet their investment and financial goals.

Mr. Hankin was formerly a partner with the law firm of Piper & Marbury, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. He is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maryland Zoological Society and serves as President of Land Preservation Trust, Inc. He is also trustee of Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Baltimore Community Foundation, the Valleys Planning Council, and several private foundations.

Mr. Hankin received a B.A. and M.A. from Emory University and J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law

Christopher J. Ellis

Managing Partner, Avpro Inc.– Advisor

Mr. Ellis is a Managing and Founding Partner of Avpro, Inc.  Avpro is a leading aircraft brokerage and acquisition firm who specializes in general aviation aircraft transactions. He and his partners formed Avpro in and with integrity, reputation and performance grew Avpro into one of the world’s largest aviation brokerage firms.  

Mr. Ellis has 23 years of aviation transaction experience in all facets of aviation leasing and sales in nearly all parts of the world. 

Prior to entering aviation in 1987 Mr. Ellis received a B.S. in Petroleum engineering from Marietta College, in Marietta Ohio.
